POLIN Museum's Frank Stella Exhibition and Catalogue Receive Major Accolades

The Taube Foundation congratulates POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews on receiving two major awards: one is the 2016 Sybilla Award for the exhibition "Frank Stella and Synagogues of Historic Poland" (at POLIN Museum February 19-June 20, 2016). The competition, organized by the National Institute of Museology and Protection of Monuments, under the auspices of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, honors the most outstanding projects in the field of museum activity. The exhibition of Stella's artworks was selected from over 225 museum projects submitted for this year's competition. The 37th annual Sybilla Award ceremony was held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw on May 16.

The second award recognizes the companion catalogue for the Frank Stella exhibition under the same title, together with a children's book published by POLIN (Small Polin. Guide to the Permanent Exhibition of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews). The exhibition catalogue was named one of the "Most Beautiful Books of 2016" by the Polish Association of Book Publishers at its 57th annual contest.

The award ceremony took place on May 18 during the Warsaw Book Fair at the National Stadium in Warsaw, and was attended by 86 publishing companies, representing 187 titles.
